Lisa's thoughts

When I was young I remember saying to grandma "I want you to come to my wedding". But she said she would be long gone by then. "But I want you to see my children". "I will be in heaven by then". (but she lived long enough for both) My kids thought she was called 'grey' grandma not great grandma. My friends knew her as the grandma with blue hair. It reminds me of Grandma when i hear the St monica reading, how she often said I don't know why I am still here. I am just waiting for the Lord to take me. Grandpa used to say every Christmas 'this will be my last Christmas'. After he died Grandma continued saying this about herself for the next 24 years. In her last years she sometimes said she felt useless. But she could love and we loved her and that is the most useful thing anyone can be. She liked to hold the new born babies in the family before they got strong enough to struggle. But now she can hold Raphael her great grandson in heaven, who I am sure has been waiting for her. The psalm 70 years and 80 for those who are strong is a joke. Lisa (Grandaughter - Jennifer and Shaun's daughter)
