Welcome everyone to this Requiem Mass for Mum. Mum died peacefully at St. David’s Home on Sunday, Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary. Mum was a woman of great faith and trusted in God that he would always look after her. She was never afraid and never lonely because she said that Jesus was always with her. Mum had a great devotion to the Holy Souls and I know she would want me to ask you to pray especially for her at this Holy Mass and afterwards, for these prayers to accompany her on her last journey. As our community leave tonight on a pilgrimage to Jerusalem, Mum heads towards the Heavenly Jerusalem. May we pray for each other. Today is the start of the Year of Faith so we will start by singing ‘Here I am Lord’ and pray today that we may be open to hear what God’s will is for us.
